NFL Brothers Stanley V. McClover Jr. and Brian Burns Launch Hype 4 Life Foundation for Autism Awareness
The Hype 4 Life Foundation, a new nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and supporting affected families, has been officially launched by former NFL player Stanley V. McClover Jr. Inspired by his 7-year-old son, affectionately known as "Champ," and supported by his nephew, New York Giants star outside linebacker Brian Burns, the foundation aims to bring greater awareness to autism within the NFL community and across the nation.
McClover's personal journey with his son's diagnosis served as the catalyst for the foundation. He recognized the profound need for resources and a strong support system for families navigating the challenges of autism. With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting that autism affects approximately 1 in 44 children in the United States, the foundation's mission is more critical than ever.
"The Hype 4 Life Foundation started with the love I have for my son, Champ. He's my hero, and his journey inspired me to create a foundation that provides the support and resources families like ours so desperately need," said Stanley V. McClover Jr. "With Brian by my side, we're ready to use our platform to make a real difference and help families feel less alone."
The challenges faced by families raising a child with autism can be overwhelming, from navigating communication barriers and social difficulties to managing significant financial strain due to specialized care. The Hype 4 Life Foundation emphasizes that the limited help currently available can be expanded through crucial community support and donations.
Brian Burns, who has witnessed these challenges firsthand, expressed his commitment to the cause. "Seeing the journey my family has faced has given me a deep passion for this cause," said Burns. "We want to bring the same level of commitment to fighting for autism awareness as we do on the field. Every family deserves access to the tools and support they need."
Contributions to the foundation will be used to:
- Fund Awareness Campaigns to educate the public and break down stigmas.
- Provide Resources such as educational materials for families and schools.
- Support Families through groups, workshops, and counseling services.
- Advocate for policies that improve services and funding for individuals with autism.
