NFL defensive standout Brian Burns of the New York Giants hosted his first youth football camp this Saturday, bringing smiles, energy, and inspiration to young athletes in the community -some of whom were experiencing their first time on the field. Among the special guests were children from Nassan's Place, a New Jersey-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families affected by autism.
Held at Dr. Gerald E. Glisson Field in Paterson, New Jersey, the free camp gave participants a chance to run drills, learn football fundamentals, and engage in team-building exercises-all led by Burns and volunteer coaches. The event reflected Burns' deep commitment to youth development, inclusion, and giving back to the community.
"It's bigger than football," said Burns. "Every kid deserves a chance to shine, feel supported, and just have fun. Today was about more than the game-it was about connection and confidence."
A heartwarming highlight of the day was the presence of children from Nassan's Place, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded 12 years ago by Nadine Wright-Arbubakrr, the mother of 20-year-old Nassan, who is on the autism spectrum. Determined to create a path for her son and other children affected by autism, Wright-Arbubakrr built the organization to provide affordable programs and services for families facing the same challenges she once did.
"We are so grateful to Brian Burns for including our children," said Wright-Arbubakrr. "Events like this remind our kids-and their families-that they are seen, valued, and included."
The camp marks a new chapter in Burns' growing legacy of community engagement as he launches the Brian Burns Family Charities, especially as he continues to make an impact on and off the field in his new home with the New York Giants.
